Not a Funny Word is going on tour.
In Ireland, we say “go to England” when we talk about that thing we are not supposed to talk about. With the referendum to Repeal the Eighth Amendment on the horizon, a national conversation about reproductive rights has begun. And we’re joining it.
In a deeply personal and bravely funny testimony, actor, comedian and activist Tara Flynn shares her account of having to travel out of Ireland for an abortion. With searing honesty, Not a Funny Word examines the status quo through one woman’s own journey. With songs.
The work-in-progress of Not A Funny Word played to sell-out crowds on the Peacock stage at the Abbey Theatre last year, and we are thrilled to bring it on tour ahead of the referendum this May.

The Complex, Dublin // 6-8 March, 10 March
