Kris Nelson has been a great collaborator and terrific friend to THISISPOPBABY since he arrived in Dublin from Canada some years ago. We have torn up many dance floors with him and cooked up many plans over the years. The greatest fruit of this kinship was RIOT, which premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival in 2016. It was a massive moment for Fringe, THISISPOPBABY and Dublin City, as we saw the Spiegeltent return so gloriously to Merrion Square. Kris’ passion and determination over several years made for a great presenting partnership at Fringe, and his generosity of spirit and vision has helped us to grow RIOT both at home and internationally. Kris is leaving Dublin Fringe Festival after four great editions, and will take up his new role as Director of LIFT Festival. London’s gain is Dublin’s loss.
