Announcing Commissions for Where We Live 2020

We are delighted to announce three commissions of new works by some of Ireland’s most exciting theatre makers, created for the next iteration of our biennial Where We Live Festival, slated for March 2020.

Malaprop Theatre Company, TKB & Wayne Jordan are all creating urgent new pieces in response to the theme of home and what it means to live in Dublin and Ireland right now. Together with the THISISPOPBABY team, these excellent artists will develop three shows with the ambition to go into full production in early 2020.

The commissions, as part of a development grant for Where We Live 2020, have been funded by the Arts Council. Mermaid Arts Centre is a commissioning partner.

ABOUT WHERE WE LIVE

Where We Live, from THISISPOPBABY, is a biennial programme of work that sits within the St. Patrick’s Festival in Dublin. Made up of commissioned theatre pieces, work-in-progress showings, dangerous ideas, opposing views, visual art, live art, a performance discotheque and an urban music immersion – the artworks are all a red hot response to the theme of home and what it means to live right here, right now.

Where We Live is a provocative platform for dynamic artists responding to what it feels like to live in Dublin, Ireland and the world today; telling compelling stories that galvanise diverse communities and engender new audiences.
