A night of performance, politics and partying as part of THISISPOPBABY’s Where We Live, presented with St Patrick’s Festival 2018.

We’re looking for artists and performers to take part in WERKHOUSE, a night of performance, politics and partying as part of Where We Live, presented with St Patrick’s Festival 2018

WERKHOUSE is a furious and feverish response to the theme of Home & how it feels to live in Dublin and Ireland today. We are looking for performance pieces of any genre, style or mood, with a particular interest in minority voices and voices not usually heard in mainstream Irish theatre or media.

The performance piece should be between 3-8 minutes long and be technically low fi. Performers must be available during the day of Saturday 17 March for technical rehearsal and show.

To apply, please email tomorrow@thisispopbaby.com by February 2nd 2018 with a (maximum) 1-page proposal detailing:

  • your proposed performance piece
  • how it responds to the theme
  • technical requirements
  • brief biog including links if relevant.
  • If your performance piece is an existing text, sound or video file, please send that in too.

Successful proposals will receive a performance fee. Download the info pack pack before applying.

The WERKHOUSE line-up will be announced in mid-February, 2018.

Saturday 17 March, 2018
The Complex, Dublin 1

We’re turning up the heat on Dublin City.

Expect savage bites, gut punching truths and a lot of discomfort.

Performance Sweatshop, Literary Frenzy and Centre for Outrageous Investigation: WERKhouse unites underground heroes, glorious outsiders, drama queens & ungagged voices in a furious and feverish night of passion for this town. Love and hate, so dangerously close.

The prodigal child of WERKclub, WERKhouse is a mixtape of moments snatched from the city. It’s a gathering. A resistance. A klaxon call. A coming together to figure out how we might make it all right. With glitter.

Get dressed, get organised, get yourself to the house party.
Clock in, WERK out.
